Zhu Yufeng Attends Meeting Between Spanish Prime Minister and Chinese Entrepreneurs in Beijing
From April 10 to 11, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez visited China for an official trip at the invitation of the Chinese government. During the high-level meetings between China and Spain, Zhu Yufeng, President of GCL Group, attended a meeting between the Spanish Prime Minister and Chinese entrepreneurs in Beijing on April 11, where he systematically introduced GCL Group's investment layout and strategic planning in Spain.
The meeting was chaired by Elisa Carbonell, Director-General of the Spanish Foreign Trade and Investment Agency. Representatives from four renewable energy companies (China Energy Construction, Three Gorges International, CNEEC, and GCL Group), two automobile manufacturers (Chery and ZeroRun), and five battery and component manufacturers (CATL, Envision Technology, Haitron, Shanghai Cari, and Tianqi Lithium) participated in the dialogue.
As a globally leading green energy operator, GCL Group has always been committed to promoting the optimization of the global energy structure and sustainable development. In Spain, a major hub for the European photovoltaic (PV) industry, GCL has leveraged its technological advantages in high-efficiency PV modules and energy storage systems to deeply cultivate the market and achieve remarkable results. To date, GCL's cumulative shipments of PV products in Spain and neighboring countries have exceeded 5 GW, with existing orders surpassing 10 GW. The company has established long-term and stable strategic partnerships with Spain's top ten clean energy operators, including Iberdrola, Cobra, and EDP. Through integrated industrial chain layouts and technological innovation, GCL has not only precisely met Spain's diverse energy needs but also actively supported the country's efforts to accelerate its carbon neutrality goals, becoming an important participant in Spain's green transition.
Against the backdrop of global energy transition, the EU has been actively promoting the localization of the renewable energy industry chain through policies such as the Net-Zero Industry Act and the Critical Raw Materials Act. Spain, with its inherent advantages in renewable energy generation, competitive electricity prices, mature infrastructure, and a highly skilled workforce, has become a core destination for PV industry investment in Europe. As a leading player in the global PV industry chain, GCL Group's integrated manufacturing capabilities will provide strong support for the energy transition in Spain and across Europe.
In his remarks, Zhu Yufeng stated that the GCL team has conducted comprehensive research on multiple regions and cities in Spain, evaluating key factors such as geographical location, government support, and electricity costs, laying a solid foundation for the implementation of future cooperation projects. GCL looks forward to building an "end-to-end" strategic cooperation model with the Spanish government and local enterprises, deeply aligning capacity planning with market demand, and achieving an organic integration of localized and globalized industrial chains.
As Zhu Yufeng said, "GCL has always adhered to the philosophy of 'open cooperation and mutual benefit.' We are willing to join hands with Spanish partners, using green energy cooperation as a bond, to jointly create a model of international capacity cooperation and inject new vitality into global sustainable development."
